UNIVERSITY OMBUDSPERSON
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A UNIVERSITY OMBUDSPERSON?
The Fourteenth Additional Provision of Organic Law 6/2001, of December 21, 2001, on Universities, defines the role of the University Ombudsman as the individual responsible for protecting the rights and freedoms of professors, students, and administrative and service personnel in the context of interactions with various university bodies and services.
In accordance with Article 46 of the University Student Statute and Article 22 of the Rules of Organization and Operation of the UFV (its Statutes, published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid on September 29, 2014), the University Ombudsman provides a service to the university community. The Ombudsman ensures that the rights and freedoms of members of the university community are respected by the actions of its various bodies and services. Its objective is to enhance the quality of the university in all areas.
FUNCTIONS OF THE UNIVERSITY OMBUDSPERSON
- To mediate in those conflicts in which our intervention is requested.
- To formulate recommendations to the governing bodies of the University.
- To receive, listen to and process complaints related to university life, which are presented individually or collectively, never anonymously
