BECOME THE CHANGE
The Become the Change alumni society is an organization that provides training and networking opportunities in international organizations with the goal of influencing decision-makers to implement social change.
Our organization’s primary areas of focus are women’s issues, poverty alleviation, and human rights. Each year, we will address these issues in alignment with the agendas of the most prominent international organizations.
We view the university student as a catalyst for change in our society and aim to disseminate this perspective throughout the student body.
What characterizes us?
We are a group of young professionals with a keen awareness of the world around us. We are dedicated to making a positive impact in society and are driven to tackle new challenges head-on. We are passionate about driving change and improvement in areas that need it most.
Our objective is to become a driving force for change and innovation within the university. Consequently, we aim to participate in as many activities as possible. There is no better way to do this than to take advantage of any opportunity that arises. The responsibility for becoming agents of change lies with us.
Our Activities
To initiate this change, we propose two significant activities: the trip to New York and the Missions.
In the trip to New York, we will participate in the World Women’s Conference that the United Nations holds annually in March. We want to have an impact at the international level, therefore, every year we actively participate in this Conference where we have the opportunity to give our opinions to influence the drafting of the guidelines for policies on women at the World level. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the UN and how this international organization works. It will also be an exclusive experience to immerse ourselves in the American culture, visiting and getting to know some of its emblematic places; and having contact with international institutions. As for the Missions held in summer, we will visit a place in need and help all those people who feel vulnerable and do not have enough resources. We will get to know firsthand a very different environment than the one we are used to and we will soak up what those people teach us.
