INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION
The main aim of Institutional Accreditation is to guarantee the overall academic quality of a university center. In addition, it allows the universities that have this recognition to renew the accreditation of official degrees without having to undergo the procedure provided for in the Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28.
It is regulated by Royal Decree 640/2021 of July 27, and to obtain this accreditation it is necessary:
- To have renewed the initial accreditation of at least half of the official bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accordance with the general procedure provided for in article 34 of RD 822/2021.
- To have the certification of the implementation of its Internal Quality Assurance System.
After the application for institutional accreditation, the Council of Universities decides in favor if the established requirements are met.
