FACILITIES
The place where you study is important because you will spend the best years of your life there, you will transform into a professional and experience great opportunities. Since UFV was founded, we have strived to make our campus one of the best in Europe.
To this end, we have created, in the more than 23 hectares of land that we have, a unique space in which interdisciplinarity and coexistence are encouraged. The faculties are close to each other, and students from all degrees cross paths on the different streets that make up the university. This facilitates exchange and a sense of community, which are enriched by the wide range of places for study (the Library, the Square, the Santander Work Cafe, the common areas of some buildings, etc.).
We also have a wide network of cafeterias (Central Building, Residence Hall, Sports Center, Building E, Rodilla, The Garden, and the food trucks in the garden area) that try to cater for the entire university community and serve as an informal meeting point for faculty, administrative and service staff and students.
Also shared are the parking areas, which are being expanded, the sports facilities, and soon the University Chapel and the forthcoming CRAI building, which will house a large library, seminar and group work areas.
We believe that higher education is something that goes far beyond ‘getting a university degree/degrees’: it is learning to live in adult society, growing in capacity for dialogue and sharing ideas, discovering diverse interests and being enriched by them, enjoying the variety and richness of contacts, studying hard and enjoying the process, opening eyes to the whole of reality. For us, the campus is a basic tool to achieve all this.
Logically, our campus above all houses the best possible tools for our students to have a cutting edge learning experience.
Here you will find:
• Classrooms for teaching equipped with the latest technology.
• The Advanced Clinical Simulation Center, the only one of its kind in Spain, where students of health-related degrees (Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Psychology, Criminology, Biomedical Engineering, etc.) can practice in an environment identical to real medical settings.
In the Faculty of Communication students can use the different radio studios or television sets, as well as booking out the material needed to carry out internships and audiovisual projects. There is a fashion lab, a design lab, an editorial office for written media, etc.
• The teaching and research laboratories are equipped with the latest advances in multiphoton microscopes, as well as everything necessary to carry out work in pharmacy, biomedicine, genetics, etc.
• We have just inaugurated the Higher Polytechnic School building, which also has a new headquarters in the MSI, in one of the most amazing spaces for research in automobile mechanics.
• The Faculty of Law, Business and Government has a business simulation center and all the necessary elements to recreate a trial.
• The Fine Arts degree has its own building that houses various workshops for painting, sculpture, etc., where students give free rein to their creativity and learn the trade.
• The University Degree in Gastronomy uses the kitchens of the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu School Haute Cuisine, which has all the necessary facilities for world-class training in haute cuisine.
• The Aula Magna, in Building H, is an ideal place for the most important meetings, such as the Inauguration of the academic year, large conferences or the performance of plays.
• An agora has been set up next to the Polytechnic School building, like a Greek theater outside, where concerts, performances, etc. can be held.
• And in the Sports Center there is the opportunity to sign up for a wide range of activities in the gym, the indoor swimming pool, or play soccer, rugby, tennis, paddle tennis. In addition, the gym is staffed by Physical Activity and Sport Sciene students trainees and has a physiotherapy clinic run by physiotherapy students.
• On campus there is also the Francisco de Vitoria Halls of Residence, where a large group of students coming from outside Madrid are lucky enough to make 100% of their time an intense university experience.
• In addition, there are a number of services that can be of great use to students, such as the Banco Santander office; the driving school; the U-Shop where you can buy the material you need for classes or laboratories; services of Cultural Activities, Pastoral Care, Social Action; the Center for Integral Support to the Family; the Center for Psychology and Nutrition; etc.
Many UFV students spend their day on campus: whether they have classes in the morning or in the afternoon, they take advantage of the rest of the time to study, work in teams, play sports, eat with their best friends, enjoy a unique experience in which everything is an opportunity to enrich their way of understanding life.
