OPTIMUS AWARDS 2022-2023
WE ALREADY HAVE THE WINNERS OF THE OPTIMUS AWARD 2022-2023!
The Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) has announced the Optimus 2023 Awards, an award to recognize the merits of the best student of each generation, their effort, work and dedication in all areas of comprehensive training, as established in the Ideology and Educational Project of the UFV. The winners are:
- Faculty of Education and Psychology: Ana María Ranninger Magistretti, student of the Degree in Psychology who, upon receiving the award, wanted to thank the people who have supported her. “I can only thank all of you who have supported me these years of my degree because you do not always find in your academic career people who value everything that lies behind, especially in that deep insight that is taught here so much” explained Ranninger who highlighted the mission of the university. “I would also like to thank my professors, who have supported me beyond what was expected of you,” said the winner. María del Carmen Alonso Ecenarro, a student of the Psychology Degree, was selected as a finalist in the same Faculty.
- Faculty of Law, Business and Government: David Maján Zambrano, a student of the dual degree in Business Administration and Management and International Relations. The student explained that “from the first day of university, we are what we are because of others, for others”. Maján recalled the hard years of the pandemic and dedicated the award to his classmates and professors. Inés Álvarez de Toledo Llobera, student of the dual degree in Business Analysis and Computer Engineering, and Rodrigo Arce Ruza, student of the dual degree in Business Administration and Management and International Relations, were selected as finalists in this same faculty.
- Faculty of Health Sciences: Marina Minguito Alaminos, student of the Degree in Nursing, who began by thanking her teachers and her family. “I have learned many things, but what the UFV teaches us most is commitment,” said Minguito, who among all the teachings of the UFV stressed that “there is no commitment without love”. María Karla García Montenegro and Daniel Garvín Martín, students of the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, were selected as finalists from this same faculty.
- Faculty of Communication Sciences: Doña Yolanda del Pino Bazaco, student of the double Degree in Fine Arts and Design. Mikel Carpio García, student of the Degree in Video Game Creation and Narration, was selected as finalist.
- Faculty of Experimental Sciences: José Ruiz Iglesias, student of the Degree in Biomedicine, who attended the event by video call from Germany. His father was in charge of giving thanks in person for the award and wanted to say a few words of thanks to all the people at the university and to all his colleagues. “I believe that José has also done his bit with this award,” he hoped. The winning student thanked her classmates and friends for “being a constant source of inspiration” and added that this award “is not only a recognition of my academic efforts, but an impulse to fulfill my goals for the rest of my life”. Rosa María Illescas Paredes, a student of the double degree in Biotechnology and Pharmacy, was selected as a finalist in this same Faculty.
- Escuela Politécnica Superior: Cristina Velasco Almirall, a student of the Degree in Mathematical Engineering who recognized that “coming to this university has marked me a lot, it has made a difference, I thank my family, especially my parents and my grandfather”, she thanked. Javier Cano de Dios, student of the Degree in Industrial Systems Engineering, was selected as a finalist in this same school.
- Faculty of Medicine: Gabriel Jimenez Barclay, student of the Degree in Medicine. “I have nothing but words of thanks to the Degree in Medicine, the Gabriel who arrived six years ago is not the same as the one here now. Thanks to my friends who made Madrid my new home, and thanks to my grandfather who has always given me a lot of strength.” He was selected finalist in this faculty, Juan Carbonel Beltrán, student of the Degree in Medicine

WE ALREADY HAVE THE WINNERS OF THE OPTIMUS AWARD 2021-2022!
Once again this year, the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) has announced the Optimus 2022 Awards, an award to recognize the merits of the best student of each generation, their effort, work and dedication in all areas of comprehensive training, as established in the Ideology and Educational Project of the UFV. The winners are:
- Faculty of Education and Psychology: Ms. Macarena Galván Muñoz, student of the Degree in Psychology. The finalists selected in this same Faculty were Mr. Marco Pérez Aranda and Ms. María Vázquez Toledano, students of the Degree in Primary Education
- Faculty of Law, Business and Government: Mr. Javier de Cendra Larragán, Optimus award ex aequo to the students Ms. Lucía Botella Rodríguez, student of the Degree in Criminology, and Mr. Adrián Anoz Feldman, student of the Degree in Gastronomy. She was selected finalist in this same Faculty, Ms. Gemma Martínez García, student of the Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
- Faculty of Health Sciences: Ms. África Ruiz Cerezo, student of the Degree in Physiotherapy. It was selected finalist of this same Faculty, Ms. Ana de Albert Martín-Falquina, student of the Degree in Nursing
- Faculty of Communication Sciences: Ms. Yolanda del Pino Bazaco, student of the double degree in Fine Arts and Design. Mikel Carpio García, student of the Degree in Video Game Creation and Narration, was selected as a finalist in this same Faculty.
- Escuela Politécnica Superior: Silvia Romero Azpitarte, student of the Degree in Computer Engineering. Finalists were selected in this same School, Mr. Beltrán García Sáez, student of the Degree in Industrial Systems Engineering and Mr. Arturo Cabrera Aguilera, student of the Degree in Architecture.
- Faculty of Medicine: Optimus award ex aequo to the students Mr. Adrián Hernández Terán and Mr. José González Rodrigo, students of the Degree in Medicine
OPTIMUS AWARDS 2020-2021
WE ALREADY HAVE THE WINNERS OF THE OPTIMUS AWARD 2020-2021!
Once again this year, the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) has announced the Optimus 2021 Awards, an award to recognize the merits of the best student of each generation, their effort, work and dedication in all areas of comprehensive training, as established in the Ideology and Educational Project of the UFV. The winners were:
- Faculty of Education and Psychology: Almudena Maestre Maroto, student of the Degree in Psychology. Upon learning that she was the winner, the new Optimus Award winner thanked her family, classmates, professors and her mentor for the award, which “is a great responsibility”. Other finalists in the same Faculty were Leticia Noriega González-Iglesias, from the Degree in Psychology, and Andrea Bravo Zabalza, from the Degree in Primary Education.
- Faculty of Law, Business and Government: Miguel Guerrero Méndez, from the double Degree in Business Administration and Marketing, and Eliel Stofenmacher Stisin, from the double Degree in Business Administration and International Relations, ex aequo. The former explained that “receiving this award is a source of pride and confirmation that effort always brings a reward, an opportunity to learn”. Eliel, for his part, thanked his family and the university because “they have pushed me to be a better person”. The finalist was Valentina Calle Zaccagnini, from the double degree in Law and Criminology.
- Faculty of Health Sciences: Ruth Calderón, from the degree in Physiotherapy, and Guadalupe García de Polavieja, from the degree in Nursing, ex aequo. The first student wanted to thank the university for this “opportunity to grow personally and professionally” and also to the professors for having been able to transmit her passion for the profession and provide her with the best tools to make her a better professional. Guadalupe, for her part, also thanked her family and colleagues for accompanying her during these years that “have changed my life”, she explained.
- Faculty of Experimental Sciences: Guillermo Chumaceiro, from the Degree in Biotechnology, and José Ignacio Escrig Larena, from the double Degree in Biotechnology and Pharmacy, ex aequo. Guillermo wanted to thank his family and the university for giving him the opportunity to “be part of this community in which I have grown as a person”. José Ignacio highlighted the role of his family and professors because “they have known how to make our potential grow”. María Ferrer Aporta, a student of the Degree in Biomedicine, was a finalist.
- Faculty of Communication Sciences: Isabel Merchante Martínez, a student of Fine Arts. The first Optimus Award winner of the Degree in Fine Arts explained that “art has been my vocation since I was a child” and thanked for being surrounded by people who seek excellence and good and “that motivates me a lot to follow that example”. The finalists were Blanca García Álvarez, from the double degree in Journalism and IR, and Andreina Victoria Hernández Ross, from the degree in International Relations.
- Escuela Politécnica Superior: Sarah Boufounas, from the degree in Architecture. Upon learning that she was the winner, the student thanked her family, the university and the professors for their “unconditional support” over the years. The finalists were Aaron Hoffman García and Carlos Tendero Martínez-Algora, from the Degree in Computer Engineering.
- Faculty of Medicine: Cristina Rasines Suárez, from the Degree in Medicine, emphasized that “the university has offered me many opportunities that I have taken advantage of” and added that “this award is also for my parents for supporting me every day”. Other finalists were the students Victoria Ortiz Berciano and Roberto Jiménez Manso, also from the Degree in Medicine
OPTIMUS AWARDS 2019-2020
WE ALREADY HAVE THE WINNERS OF THE OPTIMUS AWARD 2019-2020!
With the Optimus Award, UFV recognizes the merits of the best student of each faculty, their effort, work and dedication to all areas of integral formation, as established in our Ideology and Educational Project. For this reason, the Award is given to the student from each faculty who has stood out simultaneously and throughout his or her career in the different areas of university life. At this year’s Optimus Awards ceremony, the winners were:
- Faculty of Education and Psychology: Doña Inés Martín Cruz, student of the Degree in Primary Education. The students Ms. Blanca Pilar Carvajal Moreno de Barreda, from the Degree in Psychology, and Ms. Virginia Portell Lasfuentes, from the Degree in Primary Education, were selected as finalists in this same Faculty.
- Faculty of Legal and Business Sciences: Mr. Álvaro Garnelo Hernández, student of the double Degree in Law and Business Administration and Management. The students Mr. Rolando Andrade Matamoro, from the double Degree in Business Administration and Management and International Relations; and Mr. Alberto Ortiz Barroso, from the Degree in Marketing, were selected as finalists in this same Faculty.
- Faculty of Health Sciences: Ms. Jara María Esteban Sopeña, student of the Degree in Nursing. The students Ms. Sofía Gaos de Teresa, from the Degree in Physiotherapy; and Mr. Álvaro Buitrón Morales, from the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, were selected as finalists in this same Faculty.
- Faculty of Experimental Sciences: Mr. Nunzio Aiham Alcharani de Simone, student of the Degree in Biomedicine. The students Isabel Bravo Pérez-Plá and María del Valle Moreno Blázquez, both from the Degree in Pharmacy, were selected as finalists from this same Faculty.
- Faculty of Communication Sciences: María Hernández Martínez and María Esther Lence Tallón, both from the dual Degree in Journalism and International Relations. Clara Valentín-Gamazo Lamana, from the double Degree in Advertising and Marketing, was selected as finalist in this same Faculty.
- Escuela Politécnica Superior: Don Antonio Pérez Morales, student of the Degree in Computer Engineering. The student Ms. Alba del Rey Vega, from the Degree in Architecture, was selected as finalist in this same School.
- Faculty of Medicine: Mr. Jaime Zabala Salinas and Mr. Cristián Grillo Marín, both from the Degree in Medicine.
The Management Committee would like to express its congratulations to the finalists, whose merits are equally outstanding. Congratulations!
OPTIMUS AWARDS 2018-2019
WE ALREADY HAVE THE WINNERS OF THE OPTIMUS AWARD 2018-2019!
With the Optimus Award, UFV recognizes the merits of the best student of each faculty, their effort, work and dedication to all areas of comprehensive training, as established in our Ideology and Educational Project. For this reason, the Award is assigned to the student from each faculty who has stood out simultaneously and throughout his or her career in the different areas of university life. The awards will be presented at Academic Graduation Ceremonies 2019.
At this year’s Optimus Awards ceremony, the awardees were:
- FACULTY OF EDUCATION AND HUMANITIES: Doña Patricia Varón Álamo, student of the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences. Upon learning that she was the winner, the new Optimus Award winner explained that she was a student who got a 5 but “everything can be achieved and if you do what you like you can go far, you can be whoever you want and I will use my experience to teach children what has been my passion these years”.
- FACULTY OF LEGAL AND BUSINESS SCIENCES: Ms. Lourdes Sofía Manzano Herrero, a student of the double degree in Law and Criminology. The student explained that “if I am here receiving the award it is because of all that you have taught me”, said the awardee pointing to her classmates, professors, family, etc. “I hope that together we can set a good example,” she concluded.
- FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES: Doña Emilia María de Frutos Hernando, student of the Degree in Medicine. The student explained that “success in life is not being the best, but getting home and saying: today I have done well, helping each other”, explained Emilia.
- FACULTY OF EXPERIMENTAL SCIENCES: Doña María García Megías, student of the Degree in Psychology. At the event she explained that she started at the UFV studying Architecture but decided to change to Psychology. “The most important thing is to fight for yourself and for others, even if it is where you suffer the most, but also where you win the most”.
- ESCUELA POLITÉCNICA SUPERIOR: Doña María Gracia Aranda, student of the Degree in Architecture. After thanking her classmates for having made her worthy of this award, she explained that “receiving this award is a great responsibility because society needs people who want to do their bit to make the world a better place”.
- FACULTY OF COMMUNICATION SCIENCES: Ms. Yolanda María González Sánchez, student of the dual degree in Journalism and International Relations. “For me it is an immense joy to receive this award that recognizes my career during these years of university. The most beautiful thing about it is probably the trust that the UFV has placed in me. However, I believe that it is not only an award or recognition, but also a great responsibility. Optimus is called to transcend outside the campus. From today, I have the responsibility and commitment to take it to my professional career and put at the service of society everything I have learned during these years. This award is the necessary impulse for me to implement this comprehensive training in the world we live in.”
