UFV International Students - Incoming
Requirements Clinical Rotations for students coming from International Universities (NOT ERASMUS)
The procedure for students from universities with which there may or may not be a signed agreement. The following PROCESS must be followed:

1. ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
Admission to the UFV will be granted exclusively to students who, at the time of their rotation at UFV, have completed at least their fourth year of their degree (third year for US students) and are enrolled in a university during their rotation at the UFV. In the application process, priority will be given to more senior students in terms of academic progress. Students are required to submit official certification of their current enrollment status at their home university.
2. APPLICATION PERIOD:
Applications will be accepted from October 1st to November 30th of each year. Applications received outside of the specified period will not be considered.
3. DURATION AND PERIOD OF CLINICAL ROTATIONS:
Rotations will take place between March and December, with a duration of four weeks from the 1st to the 30th of the corresponding month. The schedule will depend on the availability of the faculty and partner hospitals.
4. APPLICATION:
The student is required to complete the application form (available via the link at the bottom of this page) and include three preferred rotation proposals (from the list of specialties outlined in point 6) and dates. Please be advised that approval or denial of the application will be communicated during the months of February and March.
5. ADMINISTRATIVE FEES:
Once the placement has been confirmed to the student, all applications for clinical rotations will be subject to an administrative fee of €475 per month, unless otherwise agreed with the home university. The student is required to submit proof of payment, including the account and period details, as indicated upon acceptance.
6. SPECIALTIES:
Students may select one of the following specialties for their clinical rotations. The UFV Department of Medicine will assess the availability of the aforementioned resources in accordance with the requested periods:
- Internal Medicine
- General Surgery and Digestive System
- Pediatrics
- Gynecology and Obstetrics
- Accident and Emergency (A&E)
- Cardiology
- Neurology
- Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedics
- Oncology
- Intensive Care
- Ophthalmology
7. REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:
To submit an application via the provided link, candidates are required to include the following information:
- Current photo
- Passport
- Transcript (updated including the last year)
- Letter of recommendation from the Dean or corresponding official position at the home university
Once the student has been admitted, the Vice-Deanship of Internationalization of Medicine will send the letter of acceptance. Subsequently, the student must send the following documentation to Marta Butragueño (marta.butragueno@ufv.es) two months before the start of the rotation. Please note that students who do not have a complete file will be automatically withdrawn from the rotation.
- Hepatitis B immunization information/ Dates of Vaccinations. Proof of Immunization UFV.
- Liability insurance (€100,000) and repatriation insurance.
- Certification of Spanish level.
- Proof of administrative fees
