The synchronicity of the training activities will be approximately 200 hours.
The evaluation system of the subjects will be continuous, for all of them, with a synchronous in-person supervised evaluation exam (online), not requiring physical presence at the UFV. The grade of this exam will have a weight between 50% and 55% of the final grade for each subject. The date and schedule of these exams will be communicated by the professor responsible at the beginning of each subject.

The applicant must provide the following documentation in order to formalize his/her enrollment in the University Master’s Degree within the established deadline:

Admissions Process
Start the admission process to the University Master’s Degree 100% online.
Complete your data and provide the required documentation through our platform. To start the process it is not necessary to have completed your undergraduate studies.
Once the documentation has been validated by the admissions committee, and if you are admitted, we will assign you an advisor so that you can continue with your enrollment.
The reservation fee must be paid within fifteen working days of notification of admission to the program. The amount of the reservation fee will be deducted from the total price to be paid at the time of registration.
The reservation fee will only be refunded in the event that the Master’s program is suspended, or if the legal requirements for admission are not met. In the case of international students, when the student does not meet the legal criteria for obtaining a visa.
In order to enroll in a UFV FDEG University Master’s Degree program, the candidate must prove that he/she has completed his/her undergraduate studies 10 days before the start of classes.
If the student has not completed his or her undergraduate studies by the first day of the month in which classes begin, the UFV will reimburse the amount paid to reserve a place in the University Master’s Degree program (subject to official documentation).
The application for admission does not imply any cost.
External internships
The External Internships is a subject of 8 ECTS of the syllabus and to pass it students must:
- Perform a minimum of 200 hours* of internships in companies or organizations in the Department of Occupational Risk Prevention or in an authorized entity.
- Perform the functions in a delegated manner, under the internal supervision of a Higher Technician in Occupational Risk Prevention, collaborating in the functions of this professional category.
- The internship subject will be developed in a professional environment, for this purpose, visits to the company will be made for the observation and subsequent evaluation of the working conditions.
Procedure to request the recognition* of credits of the External Internships subject:
For the recognition of the internship subject by work experience, a minimum of 16 months of experience as a Higher Technician in Occupational Risk Prevention is requested. To do so, it is necessary to apply for it:
- Before the beginning of the University Master’s Degree.
- Attaching the documentation indicated in the application form.
Important: Internships in companiez are NOT subject to recognition.
MODALITY OF THE INTERNSHIPS
As this is an online University Master’s Degree, the internships can be carried out either in person or virtually, carrying out a project in a company.
Advantages of virtual internships:
- Flexible schedule: allows to combine the internship with other activities. It is ideal for those students with limited time availability.
- Direct interaction with the company tutor, the academic and your fellow interns.
- Allows to put into practice the knowledge acquired in the University Master’s Degree and apply it to a real case with the motivation that this entails.
In-person internships:
The internships may be carried out in-person as long as:
- They are requested by the student
- The student provides the company in which he/she will carry out functions in prevention. The company must sign an agreement with the UFV to regulate the framework of collaboration

The professional preventionist has a wide range of professional opportunities in both the public and private sectors.
Upon completion, the student acquires the training that enables him/her to perform the functions of an ORP Higher Technician, in the three technical preventive disciplines of Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics and Applied Psychosociology, in particular:
- To practice as a Higher Technician in Occupational Risk Prevention.
- To acquire and develop the necessary methodologies for the detection, evaluation and control of risks in the disciplines of occupational safety, industrial hygiene and ergonomics and applied psychosociology.
- To be able to be appointed by the employer to perform preventive functions.
- To be a member of an organization’s own Prevention Service
- To define, develop, implement and audit a prevention management system within an organization.
- To obtain complementary professional experience to develop as a higher technician in the company’s prevention services, whether in-house or contracted.
- To be a member of a Joint Prevention Service.
