The University Master’s Degree in Criminalistics is the response from the Faculty of Law, Business and Government to meet the demand for training professionals with global knowledge and skills in the field of forensic sciences, and the need for an official postgraduate training with MECES 3 level.
A rigorous training with a practical approach in which, through participation in applied research projects, collaborating with professionals and experts, the doors are opened for the exercise as a judicial expert, professional promotions and will allow you to access doctoral studies.
We approach criminalistics from a multidisciplinary perspective, integrating knowledge and tools from different disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics or computer science.

Syllabus
Applicant Profile
University graduates
Graduates in Law, Security, Criminology, Criminalistics, Psychology, Medicine, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Cybersecurity and Journalism and members of the Security Forces and Corps.
To be considered:
Graduates in Law, Security, Criminology and Criminalistics will have direct access.
Those graduates in Psychology, Medicine, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Cybersecurity and Journalism will have to take a training supplement of 6 credits in the first terms.
Members of the Security Forces and Corps may apply for access to the university master’s degree if they meet the following requirements:
National Police (Order ECD/775/2015)
- Having been students who have previously obtained the degree of Officer.
- Post-Compulsory Pre-University Secondary Education Diploma.
- Sub-Inspector Course according to a 240 ECTS syllabus which has been passed from 2014.
Civil Guard (Royal Decree 967/2014)
- Having obtained the first job in the Officers Scale (Lieutenant).
- To have passed the training complement established by the Directorate General of the Civil Guard of 30 ECTS credits.

Admissions Process
Start the admission process online.
Complete your data and provide the required documentation through our platform. To start the process it is not necessary to have completed your undergraduate studies.
Once the documentation has been validated by the admission committee, we will assign you an advisor to arrange a personal interview with the program management.
If you are admitted, you must pay the reservation fee within fifteen working days of notification of admission to the program. The amount of the reservation fee will be deducted from the total price to be paid at the time of enrollment.
The reservation fee will only be refunded in the event that the University Master’s Degree program is suspended, or if the legal requirements for admission are not met. In the case of international students, when the student does not meet the legal criteria for obtaining a visa.
In order to enroll in a UFV University Master’s Degree program in the Faculty of Law, Business and Government, the applicant must prove that he/she has completed his/her undergraduate studies 10 days before the start of classes. In the event that the student has not completed his or her undergraduate studies by the first day of the month in which classes begin, UFV will reimburse the amount paid to reserve a place in the University Master’s Degree program (subject to official documentary proof).
International students:
The possession of an Spanish Official University Degree or equivalent is a condition for access to a University Master’s Degree, or, if applicable, the possession of another University Master’s Degree, or degrees of the same level as the Spanish University Degree or Master’s Degree issued by universities and institutions of higher education of a country of the European State of Education that in said country allows access to Master’s studies.
Likewise, persons in possession of qualifications from educational systems that do not form part of the European State of Education, which are equivalent to a University Degree, may access a University Master’s Degree from the Spanish university system, without the need for validation of the qualification, but with verification by the university of the level of training involved, provided that in the country where said qualification was issued it allows access to postgraduate university level studies. In no case will access by this route imply the validation of the previous degree held by the interested party or its recognition for purposes other than that of carrying out the Master’s studies.

Our state-of-the-art Criminalistics Lab is an essential pillar of the university master’s degree program, allowing practical immersion in key areas: from cutting-edge Ballistics and Trace Forensics, meticulous Lofoscopy and detailed analysis in Graphistics and Graphology, to precise interpretation in Forensic Hematology and rigorous Ocular Inspection. The practical application will allow you to strengthen your professional profile in an environment of excellence in the field of criminalistics.
