» You will study the degree in one of the first European Faculties that has a clinical simulation program integrated into the curriculum and that has the most cutting-edge facilities and a Clinical and Surgical Simulation Center with emergency boxes, dissection room, ICU, resuscitation room, operating room, ambulance, primary care rooms and human robots.
» In addition, you will study the research part in 400 m2 de laboratories equipped with the latest technology: flow cytometry, multiphoton microscope, cell cultures, microbial cultures, molecular analysis equipment, mass spectrometry…

» You will do compulsory internships in public and private hospitals such as Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital, Hospital Universitario de Móstoles, Hospital Infanta Elena, MD Anderson Clinic, etc.
PERSON-CENTERED MEDICINE
» At UFV we place special emphasis on the human side of your professional career. Therefore, you will take a Medical Humanities program to understand the patient’s disease process in all its dimensions: physical, psychological, spiritual and social.
» In addition, you will visit the leprosarium in Fontilles, you will travel to Germany and Poland to reflect on the role of medicine in the Holocaust and you will have workshops and seminars in which you will deepen your understanding of the ethical limits of your profession.
In Spain, the medical degree allows direct access to the MIR program for training in medical specialties through a trainee contract with public and private health institutions.

You will study medicine focused on the patient, not only on his or his/her disease
The doctor’s mission is to care for the patient as an indivisible whole, much more than treating the ailment in isolation. For this reason, at the UFV you will take a Medical Humanities program to understand the process of getting sick in all its dimensions (physical, psychological, spiritual and social). In addition, as part of your training, you will visit the Fontilles leprosarium, travel to Germany and Poland and attend seminars on the ethical limits of your profession. IN CLASSROOM:
At UFV you will enjoy practical classes from day one in our multiple facilities equipped with the latest materials and prepared to simulate hospital and emergency team actions.
IN HOSPITALS AND OTHER HEALTH CENTERS:
Aware of the importance of learning in real clinical environments, our external internship program begins in the first year of the degree (Early Clinical Immersion) and is extended in the following years in the Clinical Internship.
IN CLASSROOM:
- University Advanced Clinical Simulation Center and demonstration rooms. Here you will be able to put into practice what you have learned and acquire the necessary experience to face real situations that will arise in your clinical activity.
- Communication and exploration practices: you will carry out interviews with simulated patients (actors) as well as with simulators to practice physical explorations, approaching clinical situations in critical patients, etc.
- Team work: you will practice in conjunction with the School of Nursing where you will see clinical cases to solve as a team, as in real life.
- Innovative methodology: in the classroom, the lecture methodology is combined with innovative, participatory and dynamic ways of developing theoretical classes. You will be trained in clinical reasoning and decision making through problem solving in small groups.
IN HOSPITALS AND OTHER HEALTH CARE CENTERS:
- Early Clinical Immersion: pedagogical research has demonstrated the multiple benefits of early contact with the clinic in the professional and personal profile of medical students. For this reason, during the first two years you will have early and repeated exposure to internships supervised by tutors specially trained in teaching and evaluation skills.
- Different clinical scenarios: you will practice in hospitals, health centers, socio-health centers, emergencies, etc., both public and private, so that you get to know all the realities of the health system and the centers get to know you.
- Personal tablet: during the clinical phase you will have a tablet as a practice notebook for the preparation, supervision and evaluation in real time of the practical tasks that are considered essential for each course.
- Rotations: you will perform rotations in different areas of professional medical activity: cardiology, surgery, pediatrics, oncology, urology...
- Simulation environments: to guarantee the success of our training model, we include, as a complement to the practice in a real clinical environment, practice in simulation environments.
- Agreements: at the UFV we have agreements with 8 public and private university hospitals, 16 primary care health centers, several monographic hospital centers (psychiatric, oncology, trauma, palliative and geriatric care...) and a growing group of international agreements with world reference centers. This network guarantees a flexible and unique model that will allow you to use the best facilities of each health center for your clinical training.
MOBILITY AND EXCHANGES
You will be able to complete your university experience with an exchange program at a university in America, Asia or Europe. In addition, you will live on campus with students of different nationalities and you will have access to our Language School.

Doctor en Filosofía UCM. Licenciado en Ciencias de la Educación U. de Valencia. Licenciado en Teología U. de San Dámaso. Evaluación positiva de la ANECA en todas las figuras del profesorado. Sexenio de investigación. Investigador principal del grupo de investigación Xiphias gladius de la UFV. Línea de investigación en teoría mimética.
Cristina García de Leonardo
Doctora en Biotecnología, Medicina y Ciencias Biosanitarias y Licenciada en Medicina y Cirugía. Es Especialista en Medicina Familiar y Comunitaria y Especialista en Neurofisiología Clínica. Vicedecana de Ordenación Académica, Calidad y Profesorado de la Facultad de CC. de la Salud y ha desempeñado otros cargos de relevancia como Coordinadora Grado en Medicina. Es profesora de Fisiología I y II en Medicina de la UFV, y cuenta con 14 años de experiencia docente. Además acredita 8 años de investigación, que en la actualidad se dirige a la Educación Médica.
Santiago Álvarez Montero
Licenciado en Medicina y Cirugía. Especialista en Medicina de Familia y Comunitaria. Master en Bioética por la Universidad Pontificia de Comillas. Master en Acompañamiento Educativo por la Universidad Francisco de Vitoria. Doctor en Filosofía por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Médico de Familia con dilatada experiencia profesional en Atención Primaria. Profesor de la Universidad Francisco de Vitoria desde 2014, con dedicación a tiempo completo desde 2018, impartiendo clases de Humanidades Médicas y Métodos Clínicos.
Francisco Javier García Esteo
Doctor y Premio extraordinario en Medicina por la Universidad de Alcalá de Henares y Licenciado en Medicina y Cirugía. Especialista en Cirugía Ortopédica y Traumatología. En la actualidad es Especialista Traumatólogo en la Fundación Jiménez Díaz. Es profesor y Coordinador de Anatomía II en Medicina de la UFV, y cuenta con 12 años de experiencia docente.
Mª Amalia Úbeda Pascual
Doctora en Farmacia y Licenciada en Farmacia. En la actualidad es Profesor Titular UFV y cuenta con la experiencia como Titular de Universidad en la Universitat de Valencia en el Departamento de Farmacología desde 1993. Recibió la Acreditación positiva en Febrero de 2015 como Catedrático de Universidad (ANECA). Además acredita 10 años de investigación y 4 sexenios. Compagina su labor docente con 6 años como Coordinadora Farmacología en Medicina y en Farmacia. Es miembro de Sociedad Española de Farmacología.
Beatriz Herranz Sánchez
Doctora en Biomedicina y Licenciada en Biología. Ha desempeñado cargos de relevancia como Investigadora Postdoctoral en el Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares, Estancia Postdoctoral Mount Sinai School of Medicina New York. Es profesora de Biología e Histología en Medicina de la UFV, y cuenta con 7 años de experiencia docente. Además acredita 10 años de investigación y 1 sexenio, que en la actualidad se dirige a resistencia mediada por el microambiente en glioblastomas. Ha recibido Premios de investigación: Premio Íñigo Álvarez de Toledo 2004 y dos premios de la Real Academia Nacional de Farmacia.
María Alonso-Chamorro
Doctorado en Biología (Fisiología) / Licenciatura en Biología. Me licencié y doctoré en Biología por la Universidad de León (2006). Posteriormente desarrollé mi actividad científica en varias Universidades Españolas y extranjeras. En el 2011 comencé mi actividad docente. Soy profesora y responsable del área de innovación y pedagogía de la Facultad de Medicina.
Juan Pérez Miranda
Doctor en Medicina y Cirugía por la Universidad de Extremadura y MBA por el IESE Business School. Tiene una amplia experiencia en el sector sanitario tanto en Gestión Hospitalaria como en Compañías Farmacéuticas: ha sido Miembro del Consejo de Dirección de la Clínica de la Universidad de Navarra, Director Gerente del Hospital Universitario “Infanta Cristina”, Director de Marketing en los Laboratorios Farmacéuticos Biogen Idec Iberia, S.A. y Director Médico de la Fundación Internacional de la Salud de Madrid, Ha sido Decano de la Facultad de Ciencias Biomédicas en la Universidad Europea de Madrid y actualmente es Vicerrector de Relaciones Internacionales de la UFV.
María José García-Miguel Piedras
Licenciada en Veterinaria (Universidad Complutense de Madrid). Doctora dentro del programa de doctorado de Neurociencia (Facultad de Medicina) por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Profesora Contratada, Doctora a tiempo completo de Anatomía en el Grado de Medicina UFV. Investigación principal: Fisiopatología cardiovascular. Doctora vinculada (Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas). GEI Bases Moleculares en Cardiología y Neurología.
Javier Sierra Istúriz
Doctor en Biología Molecular por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Realicé la tesis doctoral en el CBMSO en el campo de la genética del desarrollo. En la UFV dirijo el grupo de investigación en Neuroregeneración, colaborando con el Departamento de Neurociencia de la Facultad de Medicina de la UAM.

Francisco Javier Rubio Hípola

Profesor de humanidades, desarrollo mi docencia en las facultades de comunicación y medicina, además de los posgrados. Especialista en filosofía medieval, en metafísica, lógica, teoría del conocimiento y epistemología. Participo en varios proyectos de investigación y soy miembro de SOFIME.

David Varillas Delgado
Bioquímico especializado en biología molecular y genética, con experiencia en diferentes Unidades de Investigación de Hospitales en España, proyectos de investigación competitivos financiados en genética y deporte. Actualmente, docente e investigador en la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud.
Fernando Neria Serrano
Licenciado en Biología por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Doctor en Bioquímica, Biología Molecular y Biomedicina por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Máster en Bioinformática aplicada a la Medicina por el Instituto de Salud Carlos III. Tras 17 años dedicado a la investigación básica en áreas como cardiovascular, neurociencia o parasitología, con 14 publicaciones de impacto, realizar el Master en Bioinformática me encaminó hacia la investigación clínica y como profesor en la Facultad de Medicina.
