SECRETARY’S OFFICE FOR STUDENTS

APPLICATION FOR UNIVERSITY DEGREE AND UNIVERSITY MASTER'S DEGREE

– To have passed each and every one of the subjects that constitute the studies for which the student is applying for the university degree.

To have submitted, in due time, all the documents required for access/enrollment in the university.

To have definitively closed the official qualification records.

1.It is a procedure that can only be done IN-PERSON in the Student Secretary’s Office.

Students who have completed a UNIVERSITY DEGREE or a PhD must submit this APPLICATION duly completed and signed along with a photocopy on both sides of their valid identity document with which they are enrolled at our university. Only if it is a NIE (Foreigners’ Identity Number), you must provide, in addition, another valid identity document, since the NIE is not in any case, sufficient element for the accreditation of the person.

Students who have completed a double degree  and apply for both degrees, must submit this documentation for each of them: 2 applications and 2 photocopies of the identity document in force.

If the degree program taken is associated with a own degree and you want to apply for it, you must mark it in the same application for the official degree, you should not fill in a different one.

It is very important  that the student fills in all the datawith in clear handwriting, just as it appears in his/her identity document and that, if his/her name and/or surname have accents, he/she puts them, since this way it will appear later in his/her degree, always complying with the spelling rules of the RAE (Spanish Royal Academy of Spelling).

If you have completed a University Degree or Diploma, this is the application that you must complete.

2. Pay the corresponding amount at the Cashier’s Department, where you will be given a letter of payment that you should keep until you pick up your degree.

If the interested party is unable to complete the procedure, another person may do it on their behalf by submitting, together with the application form, a signed authorization , a photocopy of their valid identity document, and the authorized person must present their original identity document.

SUPPLEMENTARY CERTIFICATION TO THE UNIVERSITY DEGREE

Once the file referred to in the previous section has been completed, the university will issue a provisional supplementary certification that will replace the degree and will have the same value for the purposes of exercising the rights inherent to it, until it is issued, and includes the essential data that must appear in the corresponding degree and the National Registry Number of official university graduates.

It is valid for a period of one year from the date of issue, which may be extended when the university has not been able to issue the degree for technical reasons.

EUROPEAN DIPLOMA SUPPLEMENT

The European Diploma Supplement is the document that accompanies the official university degree with information in Spanish and English personalized for each university graduate on the studies completed, the results obtained, the professional skills acquired and the level of his or her degree in the national higher education system. At the moment, it is only issued for first and second cycle studies (Diplomatura and Licenciatura). When it can be issued for Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies, we will update the information.

COLLECTION OF THE OFFICIAL UNIVERSITY DEGREE

When the degree/s is/are available to be collected, the interested party will be notified by e-mail from the Alumni Department to the e-mail indicated in the application for the degree.

The collection of the official university degree must be done in person at the Alumni Department by presenting the original of the student’s valid ID/Passport along with proof of payment of the fees for the issuance of the degree. If the student does not have this proof, the diploma can only be picked up with the valid ID card.

In the event that the interested party cannot come to collect the degree, another person may only do so on his or her behalf if authorized by Power of Attorney (Order of July 8, 1988 for the application of Royal Decrees 185/1985, of January 23, and 1496/1987, of November 6, regarding the issuance of official university degrees). For this purpose, the authorized person must present, in addition to the original power of attorney and a photocopy of both sides of the degree holder’s identity document, his/her own original identity document and proof of payment for the degree, if available.

If neither of the above two options is of any use to the holder and he/she resides outside the Community of Madrid or abroad, he/she may request that it be sent by courier to the Spanish Government Delegation, Embassy, Consulate or Consular Office closest to his/her address, but in this case it is the holder who assumes the risk of loss, misplacement or deterioration that this system of delivery may entail.
