ACCESO ABIERTO | OPEN ACCESS
DO YOU KNOW WHAT OPEN ACCESS IS?
The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) has created this lighthearted yet informative video to educate the research community on the concept of open access.
OPEN ACCESS / ACCESO ABIERTO
The primary focus of open access is on the strategies for making research results available to the public in a timely and appropriate manner.
These are: The Budapest Declaration and The Berlin Declaration.
The Universidad Francisco de Vitoria is already among the signatories of the Declaration of Berlin. The signing ceremony was held on May 30, 2016.
Open access publishing provides authors with the ability to freely distribute their published articles under a Creative Commons attribution license, removing barriers to access and allowing for the free distribution of their work.
This means
- Research that is freely available online.
- Free to read, copy, distribute and use (with attribution) in any way you wish.
- The author retains copyright not the publisher.
- Complies with archiving mandates
