UFV RETURNS TO THE CLASSROOM
FROM MARCH 2 TO MARCH 6, 2022
Once again this year, the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) will participate in AULA, from March 2 to 6, to present more than just an educational offer. This event is an opportunity to showcase the educational and living experience that students will find in a magnificent campus: humanistic education and values, practical training in the best facilities; exciting university life (student associations, seminars and conferences, visits from great speakers and workshops, a wide range of cultural, sports and leisure activities…); international experience, internships, social action, environmental awareness… are some of the proposals that add value to the academic training. Thus, the UFV presents more than 50 degrees and dual degrees, some of them in bilingual, blended and online mode.
There is a great deal of anticipation surrounding this edition of AULA, given the challenges posed by the past two years of the pandemic. The last two years have seen the emergence of a new educational model, which has already been identified by students as a priority. The UFV has been well-positioned to respond to this shift, having prepared for it from the outset. Digital skills have been incorporated into the curriculum to facilitate cross-disciplinary training.
The key to this appointment is to help young people decide what to study. “We find that despite the amount of information and options offered by the education sector, pre-university students have great doubts about their future; many lack a clear vocation and need to know where they will be able to give the best of themselves and where they will feel more fulfilled; They ask themselves what I will study and where I will study, or as I prefer to put it, what I will become and, above all, who I will become, in a deep relationship with the university they choose,” says Jaime Martínez Cortázar, Director General of University Guidance and Information at the UFV.
To this end, the team of psychologists at the University’s Counseling Service invites all students who are not sure what career they want to pursue to take a career orientation test.. “It is the tool to open their eyes and hearts, to look into their inner forum and discover the most appropriate university path for each one of them.”
Students are also increasingly interested in the development of their study abroad and their opportunities in internationalization programs such as Erasmus for Europe, as well as those for America and Asia. “We have our own internationalization strategy because we recognize the important contribution that student mobility makes to the quality of higher education programs and to their personal and professional development. It is increasingly in demand,” says Martínez Cortázar.
What else do students who come to AULA want to take with them? They come worried about their professional future and are therefore interested in the employment opportunities offered by the university. For example, UFV offers its students the possibility of official internships thanks to more than 3,900 cooperation agreements with companies; an option that translates into an employability rate of 94%.
They are excited to know that there is a scholarship program and study grants that they can access. In the case of UFV, more than 30% of students have scholarships. This option allows them to open the door to a university where they can live a true educational and life experience that goes far beyond the classroom.
“We are committed to providing a truly unique university experience, where there is constant dialogue between students and professors of different levels, and where the leaders of tomorrow are forged with the goal of transforming society through their work,” says Martínez Cortázar.
