EXPANDED REASON INSTITUTE
EXPANDED REASON AWARDS
The Francisco de Vitoria University, in collaboration with the Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI Vatican Foundation, organizes the Expanded Reason Awards every two years, whose objective is to recognize and promote innovation in scientific research and academic programs based on Benedict XVI’s proposal to broaden the horizons of reason.
The award is given to transdisciplinary university projects that show, from their scientific area, an openness to an integrating principle and that reflect a real dialogue between the branches of science and the so-called architectural sciences – philosophy and theology – and that have also explicitly questioned and incorporated reflection on the questions of expanded reason that exist in their particular science, either in the field of research or teaching innovation.
The prize has a value of €100,000 divided into four prizes of €25,000: two for the Research category and two for the Teaching category.
