Complementary Training Activities is an optional subject that includes extracurricular or non-regulated activities of university life. The student is offered the opportunity to obtain academic recognition with ECTS for participation in cultural, sports, student representation, solidarity and cooperation activities.

Our aim is to broaden the student’s university experience through activities that promote the development of

skills, competencies and professional knowledge, and with transversal activities that contribute to their comprehensive training as

a person.

Students can participate in an indefinite number of activities previously proposed and organized both by the University and by the degree itself.

Only activities developed by the different UFV bodies are recognized (ECTS will not be awarded for attendance and participation in activities organized by other entities if there is no agreement or follow-up with the university).

These activities are credited with a certain number of ECTS according to the duration of the activity, taking into account that 1 ECTS corresponds to 25 hours of work. No more than 3 ECTS can be obtained for the same activity.

The activities can be carried out from the first year throughout the degree course. The recognizable ECTS obtained are registered in the student’s transcript, being recognized when the student enrolls in the subject in its corresponding course, and having obtained the total of required ECTS.

The complementary training activities benefit from the same academic rigor as the rest of the subjects and curricular practices, therefore, they are subject to rules that the student must know and comply with, and that are contemplated both in the regulations and in the teaching guide of the subject.

In the case of taking Dual Degree, as a general rule it is  obligatory to take 6 ECTS -in one or two subjects, depending on the study plan- so that a dual recognition of the CTA subject can be granted both in the main degree course and in the secondary degree course. This means that, although the student must register for the subject in both degrees, he/she benefits from having to take only 6 ECTS instead of the total of 12, with the consequent saving of time and less teaching load.

• 1. Enroll in the activity through the virtual classroom, registration forms provided for this purpose, or by the means indicated therein.
• 2. Compulsory attendance to the activity that will be accredited by signing the attendance sheet in person or by recording evidence of participation “online”.
• 3. Use and fulfillment of all requirements established in each specific case, which will be announced by the person responsible for the activity and published in the virtual classroom.
• 4. Each activity is independent and has specific requirements. Therefore, it is the student’s obligation and responsibility to be informed about the requirements for the recognition of ECTS

• The information is updated in the Canvas space and a monthly newsletter is sent out through the “Announcements” section of the same platform

European Credit Transfer System

This system allows the measurement of the work that students must do to acquire the knowledge, abilities and skills necessary to pass the different subjects of their study plan.

The study activity (25 hours per credit) includes the time dedicated to teaching hours, study hours, tutorials, seminars, work, internships or projects, as well as the time required for the preparation and completion of exams and evaluations.
