ABOUT US
We are immersed in an environment where uncertainty, complexity, volatility and ambiguity have become part of our lives, reminding us, as Heraclitus said, that “The only constant is change”. In this scenario, technology seems to play an important role, but the people who design, develop and apply this technology are, without a doubt, the main agents carrying out the necessary transformation, capable of facing the challenges that the current and future scenario demands. Listening emerges on this horizon as a key element and catalyst for this transformation. But we understand listening as the action that seeks to go out to meet the other, not to reply, but to accept and understand them, internalizing what they say and what they do not say. Making silence in oneself to listen to what the other intends to convey, with attitudes of astonishment, full presence, creative openness, curiosity and seeking, among others. It is the door that opens the door to learning, the integrating intelligence that connects, enables change, relates and brings awareness, generates collective intelligence and enables transformative decision making.
The Active Listening Center is a research center of the Francisco de Vitoria University. Our mission is the research and development of active listening as an element that contributes to the use, both in teaching and in university management, of a person-centered decision making .
Our activities are organized within the Center of Excellence, under the supervision of the Vice-Chancellor Office for Quality and Organizational Transformation.
AIMS
Our aims are based on 4 pillars:
- RESEARCH
1. Develop a person-centric model of listening that is a reference for other models, to improve the academic quality and services of the University in accordance with the UFV Mission.
2. Disseminate the various listening methodologies through publications, conferences, scientific meetings, conferences or any other event or medium that facilitates the transfer of knowledge.
3. Support the implementation of training and promotion of the culture of active listening oriented to quality and excellence.
- DEVELOPMENT
1. Design and support the diagnosis, evaluation and prediction of impacts, based on key variables and indicator systems (Dialogic, Relevant, Specific, Achievable, Measurable, in Time).
2. Design tools for the visualization of information that allow the construction of a narrative of the data that facilitates decision making
- ANALYTICS
