Call for the EvitaRiesgos UFV 2023 contest
The General Secretariat and the General Directorate of Experience, Learning and Development of the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) have joined forces with the aim of promoting awareness and dissemination of the fundamental right to the protection of personal data, cybersecurity and safe use of the Internet among its students and employees. In line with the principles of objectivity, competition, competitiveness and publicity, we are pleased to announce the call for the EvitaRiesgos UFV 2023 contest, which is regulated by the following rules.
CONTEST RULES EVITARIESGOSUFV
PARTICIPANTS
The following members of the UFV Community may participate:
- University personnel belonging to the professional categories of Administration and Services Staff and Teaching Staff (except members of the jury).
- Students enrolled in the 2022/2023 academic year at the UFV in Higher Level Vocational Training Cycles, University Degrees, University Master’s Degrees or Doctorate Degrees.
In the case of minors, they must have authorization from their parents or legal guardians to participate in this contest.
Please note that only entries that comply with all the stated requirements will be considered valid for the purposes of the contest. Please note that participants who do not meet all the requirements indicated in these contest rules will not be entitled to a prize.
The objective of this contest is to guarantee that all participants are treated equally and that the competition is conducted in accordance with the rules of fair play and good faith. In the event that a participant violates the rules of good faith, behaves mendaciously or inappropriately, uses fraudulent means, or fails to comply with these rules in any aspect, UFV reserves the right to immediately exclude that participant from the contest. In the event that irregularities are detected after the actual delivery of any of the prizes, UFV reserves the right to take appropriate legal action against the author or person responsible, including, among others, those aimed at returning the prizes.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
From the initial deadline for contest participation to the final deadline, contestants may complete the following steps to enter the contest:
- Please take the time to view the exhibition of posters on personal data protection and cybersecurity, which is currently on display in the corridor on the first floor of the Main Building.
- Please be advised that new posters with clues about our GYMKHANA will be displayed in the exhibition on the following dates: Tuesday, January 24; Thursday, January 26; and Monday, January 30. Participants will be required to decipher.
- Participants who decipher all the clues will be able to download the EVITA RIESGOS stickers and should send these stickers by email to EvitaRiesgos@ufv.es
DEADLINES
The deadline to participate in the contest will begin on January 24, 2023 and will end on February 3, 2023 at 11:59 pm.
JUDGING AND SELECTION OF WINNERS
The jury will be composed of members of the Cybersecurity Unit and the Data Protection Delegate of the UFV.
The winners of the contest will be the first two participants who send the EVITA RIESGOS stickers to the email EvitaRiesgos@ufv.es
The winners will be contacted via email during February 2023 to arrange collection of their prize at the UFV headquarters.
In the event that the winner fails to respond to the email within seven calendar days of receipt or fails to collect the prize in person on the agreed date with the jury, the next contestant who submitted the stickers by email will be awarded the prize. This process will continue until both prizes have been awarded.
The identity of the winners will be published by the UFV on the website www.ufv.es only if the participants give their express consent.
PRIZES AWARDED
The first place winner will receive a prize of their choice from a list of options, including virtual reality glasses or a tablet. The runner-up will receive a set of books.
Please note that the prizes are subject to applicable taxes and withholdings in effect at the time of the award. UFV will duly inform the Tax Agency of the winners in accordance with the relevant tax regulations.
UFV reserves the right to change the prizes for other prizes.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Participation in this contest implies acceptance of the established rules.
EXTENDED INFORMATION ON THE PROTECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
By participating in this contest, you agree to be bound by the rules, terms, and conditions set forth herein and consent to the processing of your personal data in accordance with this privacy policy.

The data controller has appointed a Data Protection Delegate in advance of the Spanish Data Protection Agency. Please direct all inquiries to the following email address: dpd@ufv.es
UFV will process your personal data for the following purposes:
- To manage your participation in the contest.
- The communication of the selection to the winners and the publication of your data on the website www.ufv.es only in case of having your express consent.
- If applicable, the management derived from the prizes awarded.
Please be advised that if you consent to the publication of your data and image on the Internet, this will involve a transfer of the same to any person or entity that accesses the information.
The legal basis for processing data is the consent of the data subject, which is expressed through their participation in the contest. Participation by the means set out in these rules implies the express acceptance of the privacy policy of the data controller by the contestant.
The data will be retained for only as long as is necessary for the management of the contest. In the event that a contest winner has consented to having their data published online, it will remain visible until such time as they withdraw their consent or request its deletion.
Several application and computer support providers at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria may access personal data when executing the aforementioned contract. Universidad Francisco de Vitoria will always have a data access contract in place with these providers, in accordance with the requirements of Article 28 of the General Data Protection Regulation. This will provide sufficient guarantees for the processing carried out by these providers.
Some of the providers are based outside the European Union. In light of this, the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria requires additional guarantees in line with the international transfer provisions set out in the General Data Protection Regulation.
On the other hand, the personal data of the participants will be provided to the members of the jury.
As for the data of the candidates who are awarded the prizes will be communicated to third parties:
- On the web www.ufv.es will be made public, if expressly consented by the winners, their data and image.
- Tax Administration, where appropriate, for purposes of compliance with accounting, fiscal and tax regulations.
Any individual has the right to request information regarding the processing of their data, access their personal data, request the rectification of inaccurate data, or, when applicable, request deletion. This right is exercised when the data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected, or when the data subject withdraws their consent.
In certain cases, the interested party may request the limitation of the processing of their data. In such instances, we will only retain the data in accordance with the applicable regulations.
In certain instances, you may exercise your right to data portability. This will be provided in a structured, commonly used, or machine-readable format to you or the new data controller you designate.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time for any of the processing activities for which you have provided consent.
To exercise your rights, you must submit the appropriate electronically signed documentation. If you are acting through a representative, the letter must be accompanied by a copy of the power of attorney, as well as a copy of your DNI/ID card or an electronically signed document.
All written materials must be submitted in person at the University Registry or via mail to the address listed in the “Responsible” section.
As a data subject, you have the right to contact our data protection officer regarding any matter related to the processing of your personal data and the exercise of your rights under this Regulation. Additionally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority in the event that you believe your rights have not been adequately addressed.
Please note that the maximum allowable resolution period is one month from the date of the request. In the event that the request is deemed to be particularly complex or if a high volume of requests is received, the resolution period may be extended by an additional two months.
Should any changes be made to your data, we kindly request that you inform us in writing so that we can ensure your information is kept up to date.
