Yesterday, Wednesday, November 20, the School of Education and Psychology at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria hosted an inspiring event as part of the Leaders of Character program, an initiative designed to promote leadership development based on character and virtues.

Character Education: Latin America Joins the Movement!
In July and August, Nicole Haddad, our Head of Training, and Verónica Pérez Mendoza, our Latam Delegate, visited Chile and Argentina to deliver workshops on character education as part of the “Teachers in Focus” Cultural Transformation programme.

First Meeting of the ‘Ambassadors of Character’ at Highlands El Encinar School
Last Wednesday, 3rd July, Nicole Haddad and Verónica Fernández conducted the initial training session with the ‘Ambassadors of Character’ at Highlands El Encinar School. This group of school teachers is set to lead a profound transformation in their institution, aspiring to turn it into an authentic ‘School of Character’.
JUNE
The Character Education Programme for Mentors at Colegio Mayor Francisco de Vitoria Concludes
After two intensive weeks of training in June, the mentos at Colegio Mayor Francisco de Vitoria successfully completed the programme ‘Character Education for University Mentors’.
The programme commenced with an exploration of the fundamentals of character education, followed by an anthropology module that enabled the mentors to gain a better understanding of contemporary individuals and the affective dynamism behind their actions. Subsequently, five essential virtues were examined in depth: temperance, fortitude, justice, prudence, and gratitude.
MAY 30-31
Artificial Intelligence and Phronesis
On the 30th and 31st of May, we had the privilege of hosting Professor Liz Gulliford from the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues at the University of Birmingham at the University Francisco de Vitoria. She was invited by the Centre for Virtues and Values (CEV) to provide training for teachers and psychologists on topics such as the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and Phronesis, as well as to discuss the virtue of gratitude from a psychological perspective.

Conclusion of the ‘Character Education for University Excellence’ Programme
On 10 May, the first year of the training programme ‘Character Education for University Excellence’, which our centre has been delivering to the Educational Guidance Office of Francisco de Vitoria University, came to an end. The GOE’s mission is to ‘Accompany university students in their learning process through educational support and personal encounters, with the aim of contributing to their holistic development on their path towards fulfilment’, and at CEV we are committed to being part of this mission.
